Shibuya School of Dog Grooming, the world's first canine specialist training institution established.
Japan Animal Health Technician’s Association established (certified as a non-profit organization in 2006).
1970
Dogenzaka School Building Completed in Dogenzaka, near Shibuya Station
The “Bow-wow” Restaurant, which opened on the first floor, attracting attention as a facility that offered food for dogs, which was still rare at the time.
1977
The name of the school was changed to Yamazaki College on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
1983
Japan's first veterinary nursing major was established as Graduate Course of Japan Animal Vocational School, Yamazaki College. The new Shoto School Building (Phase 1), facing to Yamate Street,wascompletedwith a veterinary hospital and grooming salon.
1994
Japan Animal Institution, Educational Foundation Yamazaki Gakuen was established and accredited as vocational school.
2000
“First Year of Kindness to Animals”
(This is the year when the revised Animal Protection Law came into effect in 1999.)
Vocational School of Japan Animal College changed its name to the Specialized Training College of Japan Animal College.
2004
"Dobutsu kango (veterinary nursing)" was approved as the part of the name of a higher education institution for the first time in Japan.
Yamazaki Junior College of Animal Health Technology was opened in Minami-Osawa.
The Vocational School of Japan Animal College changed its name to Yamazaki Animal Collage.
2006
Shoto School building along Yamate Street was reconstructed as a nine-story brick building with a veterinary hospital and grooming salon on the first floor. On the first floor, there is a veterinary hospital and grooming salon, equipped with an underwater rehabilitation equipment, the first of its kind in Japan.
2010
●Yamazaki Gakuen University Opened in Minami-Osawa The first Faculty of Animal Health Technology in Japan is established.
● Dr. Yamazaki Kaoru, our Chairperson/President has become Honorary
Chairperson of the California Veterinary Nursing Association.
Yamazaki Gakuen's eterinary nursingeducation and activities are highly regarded in the United States.
2013
Yamazaki Kaoru, PhD, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, was appointed as President of the university.
2016
Minami-Osawa Campus Building 3 completed.
2018
University’s name changed from Yamazaki Gakuen University to Yamazaki University of Animal Health Technology.
2019
●A new system of vocational education created with industry.
Yamazaki Professional College of Animal Health Technology was established in Shibuya, Tokyo as the first professional junior college in Japan.
●The Act on Registered Veterinary Nurse was enacted as a national qualification.
●Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founder's birth,“The 8th Yamazaki Symposium on Kindness and Protection for Animals” was held.
2021
Two-department system started:
Department of Animal Health Technology
Department of Human Animal Relations,
Faculty of Animal Health Technology.
Master's Course in Animal Health Technology, Graduate School of Animal Health Technology was established.
2022
55th Anniversary of Founding
Shibuya Campus Building No. 2-B was established for Yamazaki Professional College of Animal Health Technology and Yamazaki College of Animal Health Technology in December.
